Customers running Windows 7 Service Pack 1 can download all of this month’s security updates from Microsoft packed inside a single ISO image.

At July 2011 Patch Tuesday brought with it the release of no less than four security bulletins patching a total of 22 vulnerabilities in supported versions of Windows and Office.
The July 2011 Security Release ISO Image contains all Windows patches released this month, for Windows 7 SP1, as well as its predecessors, including Windows Vista and Windows XP, but also for supported Windows Server platforms.

The ISO image is a convenient download designed to help IT professionals deploy Windows patches in the context in which that don’t use an automated solution to install updates.

The three Windows patches released in July 2011 cover no less than 21 of the security holes plugged this month, according to Microsoft.

Details about each security bulletin were provided by the software giant, and are included below:

“MS11-053 – This security update resolves a privately reported vulnerability in the Windows Bluetooth Stack. The vulnerability could allow remote code execution if an attacker sent a series of specially crafted Bluetooth packets to an affected system. An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights. This vulnerability only affects systems with Bluetooth capability.

MS11-054 – This security update resolves 15 privately reported vulnerabilities in Microsoft Windows. The most severe of these vulnerabilities could allow elevation of privilege if an attacker logged on locally and ran a specially crafted application. An attacker must have valid logon credentials and be able to log on locally to exploit these vulnerabilities.

MS11-056 – This security update resolves five privately reported vulnerabilities in the Microsoft Windows Client/Server Run-time Subsystem (CSRSS). The vulnerabilities could allow elevation of privilege if an attacker logs on to a user’s system and runs a specially crafted application. An attacker must have valid logon credentials and be able to log on locally to exploit the vulnerabilities.”
