mac osx Lion update…

Highlighting the anticipation surrounding its latest computer operating system, gadget maker Apple Inc. has today revealed that more than one million customers have already snapped up its new OS X 10.7 Lion software platform. The 10.7 iteration has only been available for direct purchase since Wednesday, but the Cupertino-based company is claiming: “…users are buying Lion faster than any other OS release in Apple’s history.

Although not necessarily the key to Lion’s early traction, it’s worth noting that it arrives as the first Apple operating system release to be made available to customers through the recently opened Mac App Store. Other ways to secure the operating system include via a pre-loaded USB flash drive ($69 USD) and a walk-in purchase at any official bricks and mortar Apple Store—though probably not the fake store in China that we reported on earlier this week. The OS X 10.7 Lion update comes attached to a Mac App Store download purchase price of $29.99 USD.
