bitehunter-logothe first real-time search engine for dining deals, today announces the release BiteHunter 2.0, its latest mobile app for the iPhone. The app first hit the iTunes App Store in June 2011 and has since revealed two upgrades in features. BiteHunter 2.0 introduces a new visual interface, high-level system organization and in-app purchasing system for deals, BiteBuy™, to give consumers a well-rounded experience when filtering through more than 50,000 deals across the U.S.

“After testing, investigating and digesting user feedback, we’ve given our app a facelift to reflect what is most important to our market”

As the first real-time dining deals search engine, BiteHunter 2.0 gives consumers the ability to search, browse and now purchase dining deals, specials and information directly from the iPhone. The app now features the all new BiteBuy™, a new one-click purchasing option in which users can browse and buy dining deals, both locally or across the country, without ever leaving the application. Purchases are secure with bank-grade encryption, so users are only required to enter daily deal logins or credit card information once, based on preference.

Visually, BiteHunter 2.0 presents restaurants and deals with a new eye-catching photo grid and a streamlined layout with breakthrough design. BiteHunter 2.0 utilizes a new algorithm to define the top deals for each user. By cleaning the clutter, the app now lists “Top Deals” first based on location, highest reviews and most popular user ratings. In addition, searches can be filtered by selecting and deselecting cuisine based on user preference. Results are already based on time of day and location. For each deal, the app shares all pertinent details, including restaurant contact info, location, menu, photos, reviews and more. Users can also make reservations within the app. The app also includes built-in social networking features, so users can share deals with friends and followers through Facebook and Twitter.

“After testing, investigating and digesting user feedback, we’ve given our app a facelift to reflect what is most important to our market,” said Gil Harel, CEO and co-founder of BiteHunter. “In addition to revamping our interface for a more visual experience, we’ve also redesigned the app to help consumers locate and buy deals using BiteBuy™ without bouncing between apps to complete transactions. We developed this feature to make the deal purchase process as easy as possible for users.”

BiteHunter 2.0 scavenges the web for all of the best deals and information that restaurants are promoting on sources such as daily deal websites, Twitter, Facebook, blogs, dining discount sites and more – and compiles it in one easy-to-navigate mobile app. Its search capabilities allow consumers to find dining deal listings based on anything from location, time of day and specific kinds of food, among other filters. The app continues to grow its content and resources and includes dining deals from companies such as Groupon, LivingSocial, Yelp Deals, Savored, Restaurant.com, Mobile Spinach, and tons more. The app also offers API integration with companies such as CityMaps and top mobile apps LocalEats and MyCityWay.

The BiteHunter app was produced in collaboration with Two Toasters, a leading mobile development firm. For more information on BiteHunter 2.0, visit http://www.bitehunter.com. To download BiteHunter 2.0, visit the iTunes App Store.
