If waiting for the release of some of Apple‘s most anticipated products is not your game, the latest rumor from AppleInsider should suit you well. According to its sources, Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, as well as new, Thunderbolt-ready MacBook Airs, could be available as early as Wednesday.

The MacBook Air is expected to come with a 128GB solid-state drive and 4GB RAM, though it is unknown if the new MacBook Air will ship with Mac OS X Lion preinstalled. Since the Golden Master version of Lion was released to developers at the beginning of July, it seems highly likely that Apple will be able to keep its July release window promise. Lion will be made available exclusively on the Mac App Store and will sell for $29.99.

The updated software is widely regarded to be the catalyst for several hardware updates from Apple. CNET’s Brian Tong tweeted, “EXCLUSIVE: My sources tell me ALL NEW Next-Gen Mac Pros and Mac Minis will launch either end of July first week of August.” Which update are you looking forward to more, hardware (MacBook Air, Pro, Mini) or software (Mac OS X Lion)?
